How we could make an impact – Aid for Ukraine

As a company and a community, we sought a way that we could help aid the ongoing war in Ukraine. The best way that we identified would be to make a local impact and raise money for Ukrainian refugees that were relocating to Canada, and more specifically, the Lower Mainland, BC.

Auctioning

In order to raise funds in-house, we organized a Silent Auction for which team members would submit items or activities they would be willing to donate for our internal auction. These items were not limited to a specific category, nor did they have an amount that they were limited to. Members of the company were able to get creative and offer some amazing things as part of the auction. These included dinners and brunches, crochet classes/products, an edited photoshoot, custom paintings, a haircut, among many others. Once all items were submitted and locked in, the bidding began.

Participants were able to have one week to put the amount theyโ€™d be willing to spend on listed items. After a competitive bidding process, the auction closed, and winners were decided. They were announced at the subsequent monthly staff meeting.

All funds raised were matched by Iridia Medical.

Ukrainian Community Society of Ivan Franko

We want to give a warm thanks to Vera Adams and Theresa Herchak of the Ukrainian Community Society of Ivan Franko for assisting us during the process and identifying a family that we could help with the donation and ensuring that transition into Canada was a bit easier.
